    • Be a professional forester
    • Be a certified arborist
    • Have written documentation from a state or federal agency of having other training in these techniques
    • Be trained by the camp ranger on site
  • Use the proper safety equipment, including:
    • Hard hat

Leaders planning to use chainsaws must check in with the camp ranger when they arrive. They will be required to sign a waiver stating that they have reviewed the training materials and have the proper personal safety equipment.

All leaders planning to use chainsaws during activities leading up to the encampment must review the following training materials before arriving at Camp Sunrise.

Please note: These are the training materials provided for all operators using chain saws on BSA property and include material on felling trees. No trees are to be felled without approval from the camp ranger.
